Brucellosis; Transmission, Symptoms, and Treatment

Treatment

The treatment aims to manage the symptoms and then use appropriate antibiotics to completely waive off the disease and prevent it from relapsing. The antibiotics are usually taken for 6 weeks. The patient is advised to pasteurize milk properly and consume food with utmost care to prevent any further contamination of food with Brucella species. The physician should be attended to regularly, who would probably prescribe multiple antibiotics to keep the Brucellosis from relapsing in the patient’s body. The usual antibiotics include rifampicin, gentamicin, and streptomycin.
