Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes usually occurs in adults. This occurs due to decreased sensitivity of insulin receptors to insulin and decreased insulin activity. As a result, high blood glucose levels occur. However, due to modification is diet and lifestyle, type 2 diabetes is now being reported in children as well.
Signs and Symptoms of Type 2 diabetes in children
These are the same as that of type 1 diabetes. Only that the symptoms appear in a slower course as compared to type 1 diabetes.
Risk factors
Major risk factors are associated with diet and lifestyle as follows:
