7) Splenic rupture

This is another life-threatening condition, but this case is more common in adult patients. Massive hemorrhage and splenic rupture may lead to splenomegaly, and it is accompanied by bleeding signs and abdominal rigidity.
Depending on the cause, splenomegaly has a different mechanism. For example, in acute infections, the spleen needs to produce more antibodies and clear used antigens from the blood. There are more cells inside the spleen, increasing the immune function, and the organ naturally increases its size. In liver and heart congestion, the main problem is an overload of blood that reaches and stays in the spleen. This is known as congestive splenomegaly.
