Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV); Signs, Symptoms & Treatment

Signs & Symptoms

Luckily, 80% of the infections with the herpes simplex virus are asymptomatic. But that is also bad news because you could receive or transmit the disease without even knowing about it. Symptomatic infection with herpes simplex virus can cause the following symptoms:

1) Vesicular lesions in the skin

Lesions in herpes start as vesicles filled with a highly contagious liquid. These vesicles are often painful or itchy and easily burst open in infected patients.
