10 High Cholesterol Foods to Avoid

6) Baked Goods and Sweets

high cholesterol foods

Cakes, doughnuts, and cookies usually contain butter, making them high in cholesterol and saturated fat. Baked goods are also filled with an excessive amount of sugar, which can result in high levels of blood triglycerides (blood fat that is unhealthy) that can cause coronary heart disease.

Rather than consuming these, use recipes that don’t necessarily require lots of butter. This also allows you to change the recipe and reduce the amount of sugar used to about half or three-quarters of the required amount.
