Should I worry if I have a liver cyst?
The short answer is no. Most liver cysts are asymptomatic, and you won’t need any surgical procedure. It is very rare for a liver cyst to turn out malignant, and hydatid cysts are becoming increasingly rare nowadays. Chances are you are just having a simple liver cyst that won’t trouble you. If, however, you have symptoms and need surgery, know that it is very safe, and you will most probably not need a laparotomy but a laparoscopic procedure with a much smaller incision and a shorter hospital stay.
