Muscle aches

Similar to many other viral diseases, patients with monkeypox usually experience muscle aches and sometimes muscle weakness. It can be generalized and mild muscle aches or a more severe and localized pain, usually in the back muscles. This is a prodromal symptom, which means that patients in the early stage of the disease experience this manifestation. In rare cases, it can be an isolated symptom, but it is usually accompanied by others, especially enlarged lymph nodes and fever. By itself, muscle aches are not characteristic of any particular disease and should be evaluated along with other manifestations of monkeypox.
