Pumpkin Seeds

Seeds are an alternative source of dietary fiber, and it has the same effect on the organism as carrots. But pumpkin seeds also contain other substances with potential anti-parasitic properties. The most important of such chemicals is known as cucurbitacin. They are triterpenes found in various plants and have anti-inflammatory and antiparasitic properties. This is one of the reasons why pumpkin seeds were listed as a treatment for intestine worms in the United States Pharmacopoeia back in 1936. Then it was replaced by the medical treatments mentioned above.
The best thing about pumpkin seeds is that they can be consumed with almost any type of food. They can also be blended with water or added to your smoothies. The evidence of pumpkin seeds against pinworms is still insufficient and is considered anecdotal. Still, there is a very low risk of its consumption and may contribute to eliminating these worms via dietary fiber and cucurbitacins.
