Causes of Plantar Warts

On the soles of the feet, the outer layer of skin becomes infected with HPV, which results in plantar warts. HPV is not a single virus, but it is a group of viruses with no enveloped DNA classified into more than 150 types based on their resemblance in their DNA sequence.
The species of human papillomavirus are classified based on whether they will cause mucosal warts, cutaneous warts, or both. -1, -2,-3,-4,-27,-29,-57,-60,-63,-65,-66, and -69 are the types of human papillomavirus HPV that are isolated from plantar warts. According to a controlled trial study, more than 88% of the plantar warts are caused by HPV 1, -2, -27-57.3. Most commonly, plantar warts are caused by HPV-1.
