2) Ice for Cold Therapy

Using heat has been heard many times but cold therapy might be a new idea for some people. Interestingly the temperature extreme used provides the same purpose and works by the same mechanism.
Just like heat packs inhibit the pain sensation in the brain, the cold temperature will make the affected area numb and hinder the conduction of nerve impulses, making the pain sensation almost negligible. The use of ice packs and ice cubes is the most common way of cold therapy.
