Confusion

In advanced cases of hepatic encephalopathy, the patient enters a state known as confusion. It refers to a significant cognitive problem where the patient is not aware of where he is or what he is talking about. The patient becomes irritable and sometimes very aggressive. It is challenging to manage a patient like this because of personality changes, mood swings, and aggressiveness. Thus, it is usually tied up in bed and requires urgent medical treatment to return to its normal state of mind.
