Cognitive problems

There’s something called hepatic encephalopathy, which is present in more advanced cases of hepatic damage. There are different stages, and the first ones are relatively mild and difficult to trace because the symptoms can be confused with the typical memory problems and difficulty to focus we may find in seniors. However, as the disease advances, it causes significant memory impairments that do not feel normal and resemble those of Alzheimer’s disease. In some cases, patients suffer from total memory loss.
