Individuals with Carpal Tunnel may be given steroid injections, as these are found to be effective for the symptoms of the condition. They are usually recommended before a surgical procedure or in the case of pregnancy when the patient cannot undergo surgery. The effectiveness of steroid injections can be evaluated by conducting Ultrasounds as well. Other than steroid injections, patients are also recommended NSAIDs, as they help control the inflammation associated with this Syndrome and help relieve its symptoms. Individuals who are having Carpal Tunnel syndrome due to fluid overdose can be given diuretics to correct this, along with neuropathic drugs like Gabapentin and pregabalin for their neurological symptoms. However, some experts believe that drugs being given orally for Carpal Tunnel only work as a placebo for the patient, and it is better to go for physiotherapy and surgical procedures.
