3. Liver Damage Risk

One of the more serious findings from clinical studies is the potential for liver toxicity at high doses of CBD. Research funded by the FDA and conducted in both animals and humans has shown that elevated liver enzymes and even acute liver injury may occur in some users, particularly when using high doses or combining CBD with other medications that stress the liver.

If you already have liver issues or take medications metabolized by the liver (such as acetaminophen, statins, or certain anti-seizure drugs), you should consult a physician before using any CBD products.
