Alternating diarrhea
In colon cancer, you might experience alternating episodes of diarrhea without apparent explanation. You just start having watery stools for some time and then stop without even taking medications. This health problem can cause dehydration and electrolyte alterations, especially in older adults and people who keep having 6 or more watery stools for more than two days.
There are plenty of reasons why people get diarrhea, and some of them might not even be infectious. For example, we can get diarrhea if we are lactose intolerant and consume dairy without noticing, and many viral and bacterial infections cause the same symptom.
