Fatty Liver Disease Diet > How to Reverse Fatty Liver?

Diets and how they affect us

Human diet has changed greatly since we first lived on this earth. Our ancestors were strictly vegetarian in some parts of the world and strictly carnivorous in others -the Inuit people for example-. It was only when humans discovered agriculture that our diets became more similar. There’s also the difference in food constituents among social classes. For millennia, the higher classes had a much higher proportion of proteins in their diet, while the poorer ones suffered from protein-energy malnutrition, which killed many infants. Diseases also varied among classes. While the impoverished ones suffered from malnutrition, the richer ones suffered from obesity, diabetes, and gout.

People from higher social classes no longer eat more, but rather eat small quantities of high-quality food. Meals rich in fats and carbohydrates have become cheaper, while those rich in vitamins, high-quality protein and fibers have become much more expensive. Diseases like diabetes and hypertension became much more common in those unable to buy such meals or don’t have the time to prepare them. While our ancestors roamed the wild and exercised on a daily basis, we are now confined to desks and in front of bright screens for most of the day.
