What type of food can help in fatty liver disease?
Studies have concluded that the best-balanced diet is the Mediterranean one. It helps reduce fats while providing the body with antioxidants needed to reduce inflammation already caused by excess fats in the body. The Mediterranean diet includes:
- Fish and seafood: Fish is the best source of protein on the planet. Its protein is easy to digest and doesn’t contain excess cholesterol as in the case with mutton and beef. Fish also contains minerals and Omega-fatty acids.
- Fruits: Although excess fruits aren’t optimal for losing weight, moderate consumption can help provide the body with indispensable vitamins and fibers. They are also rich in antioxidants.
- Olive oil: Olive oil is not lower in calories as many people think, and a spoonful of olive oil has the same number of calories as any spoonful of any other vegetable oil. However, olive oil is rich in antioxidants and its fats are of the healthier type (called monounsaturated fats).
- Nuts: Nuts are a rich source of healthy fats and can increase the level of your HDL-C, also known as the healthy cholesterol.
- Avocado: Avocado is not a low-calorie diet by any means. It is one of the highest fruits in calories. It is. However, rich in monounsaturated healthy fats which raise the level of HDL-C. It is also very rich in vitamins B6, C and E.
- Whole grains: One of the worst eating habits is consuming non-whole grains. Whole grains are rich in vitamin B and helps greatly in digestion.
