3) Gram-negative folliculitis

It is a bacterial infection that causes acne-like symptoms. Escherichia coli, Proteus spp, Klebsiella species, Serratia marcescens, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are all causing Gram-negative bacteria. Long-term therapy is required and uses topical tetracycline or another antibiotic. Gram-negative bacteria can also cause the following skin conditions:

1. Pseudomonas infection causes folliculitis in spa pools. This organism can endure the hot pool’s higher temperatures, increased alkalinity, and high organic content.
2. Folliculitis caused by Aeromonas hydrophila, which develops in a skin injury that has been exposed to contaminated fresh water.
