7. Dairy Products
While dairy products are generally considered healthy, some studies have shown that high consumption of dairy products can increase the risk of gout. This may be because dairy products contain casein, a protein that increases uric acid production.
However, other studies have shown that low-fat dairy products can actually decrease the risk of gout. If you have gout, it is recommended to talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian about whether or not you should limit your intake of dairy products.
