11. Rhubarb Oat Bars

Rhubarb Oat Bars

Instead of buying protein bars from the supermarket, you can make your own tasty rhubarb oat bars and give your children an extra share of micronutrients. It takes some preparation, but it tastes excellent, and you can control the ingredients your kids will consume. You would need all-purpose flour mixed with 1 cup of natural oats. Mix with shredded coconut, some salt, and some artificial sweetener, stir the mixture with butter and take it to a baking dish.

Now, you will prepare the rhubarb mix with lemon juice, honey, and some water. Cook for a few minutes and mix with cornstarch when the rhubarb is tender. When the mixture thickens, you can now spread it in the baking dish over the oat preparation. Bake for 30 minutes or until brown, and cut the preparations into squares or bars.
