What Causes Varicose (Spider) Veins?

Varicose veins

Blood vessels that enlarge and curl just underneath the skin’s top layer are referred to as varicose veins. The limbs and ankles are the typical locations for the varicose vein to occur. They could itch or hurt. Varicose veins are usually surrounded by purple-like lines called spider veins located close to the outer surface of the skin.

Varicose is not usually life-threatening except that it can get uncomfortable, especially for aesthetic individuals, but there are also cases where varicose veins get complicated, leading to a more serious set of medical conditions such as thrombosis and embolism as a result of blood clots. Varicose veins are sometimes relieved using home remedies and they can also be managed in the clinic using both medical and surgical approaches (3).

According to statistics, women are more likely than men to have varicose veins, and in both sexes, 25% of individuals have these conditions on their lower legs.(2), and approximately one out of four adults (both genders), in the united states have varicose veins (4).
