Outcome of jaundice

The outcome of jaundice depends on its cause. Mild causes such as acute attack of hemolytic anemia can easily pass without complications. On the other hand, some causes are severe and are not treatable unless by liver transplantation such as acute fulminant hepatitis. Your doctor will discuss the outcome of your case with you and will answer any question you may be having. It is important to know, however, that the depth of the jaundice is not related to the severity of the condition nor is the rate at which jaundice developed.
