Leptospirosis in Humans & Dogs | All You Need to Know!

Prevention and control

Cleanliness is the key to improving the health situation of all kinds. All types of microbial infections increase and pick up when the environment is not kept clean. The skin should heal fast and be kept free of wounds to prevent the Leptospira from entering the body. All types of contaminated food and water should be avoided.

For swimming, make sure the water used is fresh and clean and is replaced daily. The farmers should be advised to use gloves and cover the skin when dealing with the soil. Any form of direct contact with the ground and water should be avoided where cases of Leptospirosis are already observed. The population of rats and mice in and around the house should be controlled biologically and chemically. The sanitary conditions should be regulated, and standing waters should be eliminated to destroy the suitable environmental conditions for Leptospirosis.
