Sore throat

In the initial stage of monkeypox infections, patients usually complain of various mucosal problems, including sore throat. The disease can take the pharyngeal mucosa with inflammation and pain. In many cases, patients also display coughing and other symptoms that suggest respiratory involvement. However, when doctors evaluate the airways and lungs, they are not particularly taken by the disease. This is the prodromal stage, which then gives rise to skin rash.
