PIFC symptoms are mainly due to liver affections, as follows:

  • Fatigue
  • Itching due to the deposition of bile salts in our body
  • Enlarged liver and spleen (Hepatosplenomegaly)
  • Jaundice: Yellowish discoloration of skin and eye
  • Gall bladder stone
  • Weight loss due to impaired absorption of fats
  • Impaired absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K), which leads to their deficiency
  • Liver cell failure and cirrhosis (scarring)
  • Liver cancer
