The Pigeon Poses

There are two types of pigeon poses. The first one is the sitting pigeon pose. It can be practiced by stretching out your legs while folding one over the other on the ground. This pose is very commonly practiced in yoga and other stretching exercises. Your legs should be folded in such a way that your right ankle rests on top of the left knee and vice versa.
The other pigeon pose is the forward pigeon pose. This is a little complicated exercise but once learned properly, can give very fruitful gains in treating sciatica. Kneel all your four limbs on the ground and lie straight.
Now raise your body a little to bring your right leg forward and fold it by making a four in front of your torso. Next, bend forward and stretch your muscles. Your right foot will be exactly aligned with your left knee. Now change the position to the same with the other leg and repeat the exercise momentarily after every 30 seconds to stretch.
