What Are Skin Tags? & What Causes Skin Tags?

Dyslipidaemia

The presence of leptin receptors in the epidermis and dermis is responsible for the formation of skin tags. Leptin is a 167-amino-acid protein with a molecular weight of 16 kDa, produced by adipocytes, and defective synthesis is a product of the obesity gene (ob). The stomach, the placenta, and the mammary gland all express it. The amount of leptin in the body is related to fat mass. Through hypothalamus-mediated actions, it regulates appetite and energy expenditure. It also has a role in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Obesity raises serum leptin levels, which is strongly associated with fat mass and body mass index (BMI).
