Ointments

The dermatologists use different ointments, solutions, and other medications, such as inhibiting the extra cell growth of 5-fluorouracil, acyclovir, zinc, and imiquimod antiviral drugs. Imiquimod cream is the most effective treatment for nongenital warts when applied to the affected area for 16 weeks. The reoccurrence rate of warts is low.
Salicylic acid 17% solution is also available as an ointment for treating common warts. Soak the wart in lukewarm water for more effective results before applying the cream.
