The common risk factors which are associated with Amebiasis include:

  • The place where an individuals resides. Most commonly, the residents of tropical areas are at a greater risk for Amebiasis, as it is usually endemic in these regions.
  • Dietary Habits: Individuals who consume raw vegetables are at a greater risk for Amebiasis, as uncooked food sources are a source of the Amebiasis causing Cysts.
  • Corticosteroid use: Individuals who use corticosteroids regularly may have a suppressed immune system and are at a greater risk for infection by Entameba Histolytica.
