The ones who require treatment are only those who present with symptoms, otherwise, it resolves on its own.

Once the condition has been diagnosed due to persistent symptoms, anti-parasitic medications are given. These include; Albendazole and Mebendazole. Ivermectin is also given along these two medications as it helps kill off the parasite.

Individuals who have a lot of Ascaris worms causing problems in peristalsis, blockage of the bile duct, and intestinal obstruction require surgery. This surgery focuses on removing the worms from the small intestine and clearing the body off of them. These individuals require medication in case of any eggs still being present in their system which can cause a relapse.
