Types of autoimmune hepatitis
We have two types of autoimmune hepatitis, as follows:
- Type I: It is the most common type and affects young women between 15 to 40 years old. More than 50% of patients with this type have other autoimmune diseases.
- Type II: It usually affects young girls between 2 to 14 years old. But, adults may also develop this type.
Seeing a doctor
If you experienced any of the previous symptoms, you should seek medical care as early as possible. Early diagnosis means early control of the disease before extensive liver damage occurs. Autoimmune hepatitis needs a hepatologist to diagnose, treat, and monitor it.
