Women who have regular menstruation periods have 25 to 28 days average time for the normal cycle. However, the duration may change from 2 to 4 days above or below this average time, depending upon other health problems, diet or medication. But if the menstruation duration disturbs from high margin (one week above or below), high bleeding or there is sudden skipping of a month, it may be a red flag for cervical cancer.

A famous doctor “Shirazian” suggested that it is not about the duration of a cycle lasting one or two days longer, rather it is about a sudden change lasting for two-three weeks. Keeping yourself on the safe side, if you are experiencing unusual changes in your cycle which last for a minimum of two periods, it is important to consult a gynecologist.
