Signs and Symptoms
Many patients infected with the Epstein Barr virus remain asymptomatic, and others only experience flu-like symptoms. Most adults have traces of the infection and do not remember having it in the first place. The incubation period lasts 4 to 6 weeks, after which symptomatic patients may develop the following symptoms:
1) Fatigue and malaise

This is by far the most common symptom patients report during acute Epstein Barr infections. It can be very severe and incapacitating in some cases, forcing patients to stay in bed all day long.
