Ginger
Spices are also a source of potassium if you use them properly, and ginger is a suitable example. This spice comes from the root of the ginger plant, and it contains antioxidant substances called gingerols. They combat almost every type of inflammation, from rheumatoid arthritis to gastrointestinal symptoms triggered by inflammatory problems. It is also great for your respiratory health and contains 1,300 milligrams of potassium for every 100 grams.
As you can see, the primary source of potassium in the diet is having a variety of vegetables in your dish. That is why nutritionists recommend that half your plate should be filled with vegetables. But even if you prefer other foods, consider cod and dried apricot. Of course, you could also eat bananas, but you may need many of them to receive the same potassium intake found in a single piece of carrot.
