Similar conditions to Gilbert syndrome

As harmless as Gilbert syndrome is, it shares some symptoms, signs, and even lab results with some more serious conditions including:

  • Advanced liver cirrhosis
  • Obstructive jaundice from a tumor
  • Hemolytic anemias (anemia resulting from the breakdown of red blood cells)
  • Pancreatitis, which is the inflammation of the pancreas from stones or alcohol
  • Hepatitis
  • Other genetic diseases of the liver including Dubin-Johnson and Criglar Najjar.
