4. Sugary Drinks
Sugary drinks such as soda and fruit juice are high in fructose, which can increase uric acid levels and contribute to gout. A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that men who drank two or more sugary drinks per day had an 85% higher risk of developing gout than those who drank less than one per month. It is recommended to limit your intake of sugary drinks or avoid them altogether.
