Treatment for HPV
There is no treatment for eradicating the virus itself, but the health conditions the HPV causes can be managed. Here is a brief overview of treatment options.
Skin and Genital Warts
Simple genital warts that do not cause any trouble and do not increase in size are considered benign. There are several possibilities about their outcome. They may grow in size, fade away, or stay the same. Various options available for removal include Cryotherapy, Electrocautery, and Laser treatment.
Cervical Precancer HPV
Women are advised to follow up PAP smears, and if at any stage the doctor considers that it has crossed the line to become cancerous, the lesion is removed with surgery. Often there is a possibility that the precancer lesion regresses by itself.
