HPV in Men
In men, genital warts most frequently appear on the penis, on the scrotum, in or around the anus, or on the crotch. For men, HPV disease – including those that can cause cellular changes – cause no side effects, so diagnosing HPV in men is troublesome.
The diagnosis of HPV in men is made when external genital warts are seen. However, men are equally susceptible to developing cancerous lesions if infected from high-risk types of HPV 16 and 18.
