Advanced disease
As noted above, liver cancer is a progressive and very silent disease. Many patients experience only mild symptoms in an early and intermediate stage. These patients only find out there’s something wrong when the tumor has grown large and may have spread to other organs. Such an advanced disease will give you the following signs and symptoms:
Loss of appetite
These patients usually lose their appetite for many reasons. One of them is that the tumor itself changes our body chemistry and may suppress hunger. It makes patients feel nauseous, and they can’t eat much. When cancer has grown very large, it can press upon the stomach right on its side, reducing the stomach capacity to store food and triggering satiety.
