Early disease with comorbidities
Some patients would display early symptoms, but they are not usually due to cancer itself. They are mainly related to other liver comorbidities. For example, a patient with cirrhosis will display symptoms related to his disease. They could be further intensified by cancer, and this may or may not be noticeable. Symptoms in this category include:
Yellowish skin tone
Doctors call this symptom jaundice, which is highly suggestive of a liver condition. The liver metabolizes bilirubin and takes it out of the blood to eliminate it into the intestines through the bile. But since the liver is not doing its job correctly, bilirubin gets stuck in the blood. The problem is that this substance is intensely colored and deposits in the skin. As the skin is fed by blood overloaded with bilirubin, this substance builds up and changes the skin tone to a yellowish that will be seen throughout the body and in the white portion of your eyes.
