8. Drug Allergies

Following the use of some drugs, some persons may develop an allergic reaction, such as:
- medications such as penicillin
- NSAIDs, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, treat epilepsy. Chemotherapy drugs are used to treat cancer.
Allergies to drugs can lead to:
- Rashes on the skin, hives, and itching
- Swelling of the skin
- A drug allergy can lead to anaphylaxis, a life-threatening illness in difficult situations
Anaphylaxis can cause the following symptoms:
- problems with breathing
- rapid heartbeat, confusion dizziness
- consciousness loss
