Cereals
Some cereals may also provide an extra concentration of zinc. For example, oatmeal, corn, and rice have a moderate amount of this nutrient. But let’s talk about it in detail:
1) Oatmeal

Interestingly, half a cup of oatmeal contains 1.5 mg of zinc. It also has many other vitamins and minerals. However, there is something you should know about this and other cereals. The mineral content is usually high, but the body has difficulty absorbing it because oats contain phytates. These substances are antinutrients and compromise intestinal absorption.
Thus, it is no surprise that you will see many cereals with a note that it is fortified with iron, zinc, and other micronutrients. This will make up for the absorption reduction we will go through right after eating.
