Myth 3. Liver detox can reverse hepatic damage
The liver has a regeneration function that you won’t find in another organ. If you cut a part of the liver, this part will grow once again, similar to what happens with a lizard’s tail. So, you could expect reversing some liver problems if you care for this noble organ.
However, there’s a limit to this regenerative capacity. Hepatic damage can be irreversible, as in the case of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. You cannot recover your liver after it has gone through this degenerative process, no matter how many detox diets and products you consume.
