Trigger Finger; Causes, Symptoms & Treatment Tips

Trigger Finger

Outcome Following the Surgery

Trigger Finger Surgery

The outcome of trigger finger is excellent both using conservative and surgical methods. In conservative treatment, a response was found in up to 70% of cases. Surgical treatment also has a very good outcome with a success rate of up to 95%. Recurrence remains a problem for some patients, and it can be prevented by proper education of patients with measures such as:

  • Avoiding excessive pressure on the hand and palm. If you work a job that requires you to do so, it may be a good idea to change professions.
  • Controlling your diabetes: There has been some correlation between uncontrolled diabetes and trigger finger, and controlling diabetes can contribute to decreased recurrence
  • Hand exercises: Gentle and regular hand exercises
