Cantharidin

This method involves painting the wart with cantharidin. It can cause the formation of blisters under the wart. After a week, visit your dermatologist, and they will remove the dead wart. Cantharidin is derived from the blisters of beetles and is known as beetle juice. It causes the destruction of the epithelial cells of warts by the formation of blisters around the infected skin area. The dose concentration of cantharidin used for skin warts is 0.07%-1%. The process is reportedly performed for 1-3 weeks until the warts are recovered.
There are a few side effects of cantharidin as it causes hyperpigmentation of the skin, itching, distress, pain, and scar formation. But adjusting the concentration of the cantharidin to 1%, salicylic acid to 30%, and podophyllin to 2% can produce fewer side effects. This solution is known as CPSI.
